This History Channel look-back at the killing of Moscone and Milk and Trial of Dan White is about 25 minutes, in 3 parts. It is composed of interviews and compiled news footage. Some of those interviewed within it include:

  • Detective Frank Falzon, White's former colleague and the detective who took his confession after he shot Moscone and Milk

  • Douglas Schmidt, White's defense attorney in his trial

  • Jonathan Moscone, George Moscone's son

  • Mike Weiss, a journalist who was one of the first to disclose White intended to kill four total people on that day in 1978.

  • Carol Ruth Silver, one of Dan White's other intended targets

This documentary is very useful for some broader context of the shootings, the trial, and Dan White's death. It also helps show the broader social repercussions for San Francisco's neighborhoods and politics from immediately after the shootings through to more than 20 years after the shootings, when the documentary was made.
